Description

The Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral, ESPOL,  in its strategic plan, has prioritized certain lines of research, technical development and innovation (R+D+I) taking into consideration the challenges, threats and opportunities currently presented on the national scene and locally in the Coastal region, in order to contribute to the sustainable development of the region. In this context, ESPOL teachers and researchers, experts in their respective fields, are continually involved in a process of examination and reflection in relation to current lines of inquiry and future planning, which has resulted in six priority areas of research:

• Agriculture and Animal Production
• Climate and Environment
• Education and Communication
• Alternative and Renewable Energy
• Environmental Management
• Industrial Technology

ESPOL will focus on these six areas and place special emphasis on integrative and interdisciplinary programs.
